Whew, I'm worn out. I had a surprise birthday party for my husband last night and was able to keep it a secret. He was very surprised and had a great time with about 25 friends. I wanted his 60th birthday to be special. That's about all I have been working on for the last two weeks. I did manage to get the quilt for my step daughter all cut out, now to start sewing. I also have muslin covers cut out for two of the four extra foam pads we use on the bed in the camper, I still have to sew them together, too. Now that the party is over, I can get back to my regular schedule.
My step daughter is getting married in a couple of weeks so we will have some house guests staying with us for that. The house is pretty clean so getting ready for them won't be too big of a job.
I have the swap blocks ready for July but have not started my June snowman block yet and the next one comes out on July 5th. I have not sewn any more of Two Piece Puzzle or done any quilting on Patriots Home. But, now I think I will have some time to sew.
I hope I have more to show on my next blog.
Stay cool and happy quilting!
Happy birthday to your hubby! Good luck with the wedding house guests. I can't wait to see your pics :) Christine
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treat for DH! You will no doubt be busy with the wedding. I hope you can squeeze some sewing time in there. Cheers, Ann :-)
ReplyDeleteI bet everyone had a wonderful time. It sounds like you've been very busy and it will continue for a couple of weeks. Hope you can get some sewing time. Connie
ReplyDeleteWow. Pulling of a surprise party is not easy. I bet he enjoyed the celebration with friends.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you will stay busy for a while with the wedding and lots of sewing. Enjoy.
Happy stitching.
Congratulations to your husband, and to you as well for the successful staging of his party. I enjoy reading your 'newsy' blogs. Good luck with your many projects.

Surprise parties are so much fun, both for the birthday person and the planne/giver!. Guess who gets stuck with all the work? I'd bet you were exhausted, but no doubt it was worth it! ---"Love"
ReplyDeleteHappy 60th to your hubby!! My hubby and I are 40 (me, close enough to consider it)...we have no idea what to do with ourselves next. Another 20 years of occupying ourselves???? Need some serious ideas;)
ReplyDeleteHappy Quilting!!
Yes, that is enough to wear anyone out! Glad it was a big success! I'm on my way home to Texas now and we're looking forward to getting home after being away for more than a month! Not looking forward to the heat, however.
