He helped Grandpa make some repairs around the house, rode his bike, visited a farm, "drove" the tractor, fed some goats and ate ice cream.
After Ohio, we headed for Arkansas to visit the SIL/BIL's. There we ate out a lot, had a nice time at a party and helped clean out a shed and garage. We had lots of fun but when it was time to head home, DH was not feeling well. On the way home, I came down with whatever we had picked up. It took several weeks, trips to the doctor and DH had three rounds of antibiotics before he started feeling better. I didn't have it as bad, but it wasn't fun.
I finished the second cowgirl boot quilt for my DGD in Wisconsin.
The boot quilts are so cute, but lots of work! Boots on the front and Broncos on the back. When I saw the Bronco fabric, I knew I had to use it. Harley loves the horse in the logo. I don't think she really understands anything about the game, it is all about the horse. She was so happy when she received the quilt, my DD said she was so excited she could hardly talk. Then when she saw the back, she was thrilled! "Denver Broccoli" was all she could say. Harley is on the Autism spectrum and has her own words for some things. She loves the quilt and that makes me a happy Grandma.
Since we got back home after our trip and after I started feeling better, I worked on my next quilt. The days I didn't feel like sewing, I knew I was sick. This next one is a scrappy quilt for my bed.
The pattern I used to get started was for a 64 inch square quilt, but I wanted it to fit my queen size bed, so figured how many extra parts were needed to make it a 96 inch square quilt. I made lots of HST's, 696 to be exact. Then 44 4 1/2 in squares and 264 2 1/2 in squares. I have three rows hand quilted and have started on the fourth. I can't wait to have it done, but it is going to take quite a while to finish.
Over the 4th of July weekend we went up to Colorado for my son's birthday and to see my DDIL and sweet little GD. We rode the motorcycle up and it was nice most of the time. It did rain while we were there and we found out the old rain gear didn't work any longer, so bought nice new gear. Of course, then it stopped raining! But we will need it for an upcoming trip, so it works out.
My little sweety will be 2 in the fall, I think she is very special. The second photo is one my DDIL took while we were walking around town. Three generations, hand in hand!
I have another baby quilt to start on, too. Our little GS in Ohio is going to have a baby brother in November, so that will be fun to work on.
